THANK GOD IT'S FAVOURITES: Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo

I have been using the Tropical Batiste Dry Shampoo for years, and it will always hold a special place in my heart, but for day to day refreshing it has been completely usurped recently by this amazing dry shampoo from Herbal Essences. I bought it on a complete whim a few months ago and just bought my second can (it lasted forever!) so it seemed a pretty appropriate time to include it in my favourites. As a redhead, I have found it really difficult to find a dry shampoo I am completely happy with, but this stuff is honestly brilliant.

It obviously will work on any colour hair, but I would particularly recommend it (over Batiste) for dark or red hair because it doesn't leave a chalky residue (I know, pretty amazing). My hair gets greasy just one day after washing, but because it is dyed I don't like to wash it every day because it would fade so quickly, but that means I use dry shampoo at least every other day, and yet this is the first one I am fully satisfied with. I stuck with Batiste because although it definitely left it looking chalky, it was the only one that really got rid of the grease - other ones left less residue but didn't properly refresh my hair. This one, shockingly, refreshes my hair *and* doesn't leave a residue.

I can't believe I am actually putting that first picture on the internet, but it really does show how good it is. My hair was completely lank and flat and greasy, but a quick spray of this stuff completely got rid of the grease. With Batiste, I never wore my hair down the day after washing because it didn't look nice enough, but this honestly makes it look freshly washed, even when it is so, so disgusting. Rather than basically being an aerosol powder, it is a fine mist, which is why it doesn't leave any residue, but it works in exactly the same way, I spray on the roots and give a zhuzh. Because of the lack of residue though, I can spray it right on the top of my head, rather than just underneath sections, which makes it super easy and quick to use. It also smells absolutely divine, kind of like pear drops, and it is basically like having clean hair again. Obviously I still wash it regularly because I am not gross, but come festival season/travelling, this is going to be a godsend.

My one teeny tiny complaint about this would be to do with the packaging, because although it is quite nice, I think it looks quite like a aerosol deodorant, so much so that I just sprayed it under my arms. I really wouldn't recommend doing that. Other than that though, I think this dry shampoo is a miracle-worker and I can't recommend it enough. I am tempted to try the other ones in the range but I am worried they might not live up to my now-incredibly high expectations! Have any of you tried this or the others? Or are there other dry shampoo brands I should try? Let me know in the comments!

  2. What a great shampoo! I always prefer herbal products as they are completely safe for hair. I have heard a lot about the alterna shampoo. I wonder if alterna products contain herbal ingredients!
