It’s that time of the month again! Glossybox time, or, as my
little sister calls it ‘you know, when you get the surprise boxes in the post.’
This month was the Pop Art Collector’s Edition box, and it’s so cute I just
want to keep it forever. One of Glossybox’s huge selling points for me is the art
on their boxes – they are gorgeous and I keep nail varnishes in them – and the
products inside were a pretty nice surprise too.
That said, they actually weren’t that much of a surprise –
this month, Glossybox is trialling paperless product cards, meaning you get a
link via email to a page telling you all about the products in your box.
Environmentally, of course, this is a great thing, but it does mean you can find
out about your exact products before they arrive, so I missed the surprise a
bit. I also missed having the card right alongside to read about the products
as I opened them up – maybe they could print the product info on the inside of
the box instead and everybody wins?
The products were still up to standard, though. I got four
full-size products (out of six), which I think is pretty great. First up was
the Nuxe Crème Fraîche de Beauté Mask (RRP £19.50 for 50ml), a moisturising
mask that you massage in after 10 or so minutes. I’m not really used to masks
that don’t wash off at the end and I did find the texture a little weird, but
it did feel pretty moisturising and balmy so I think I’ll get a lot more use
out of it.
Next is the Être Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel (RRP €12.95, although I’ve seen some for around £7
on eBay). This is a bit of a weird product – like a cream exfoliator for your
lips – but I had a go and it works very well, once you manage not to get it all
in your mouth. It’s a learning curve. And it doesn’t even taste that bad.
I have a So Susan Cosmetics blush, which I got in
a previous Glossybox, that I adore, so I was pretty excited by the Flutter Mascara
(RRP£14.95). I was a bit let down when I tried it out, though – it’s got a
bristle brush, which I’m not a huge fan of, and the formula felt a little bit
wet and smudge-prone for my tastes, but it had nice pigmentation and who knows,
it might grow on me.
The last full-size product was a Ciaté
London Paint Pot (RRP £9), which I got in the colour Pom Pom (how cute is that
name?). I’ve not tried this out yet, and it’s not necessarily in a colour I’d
have chosen as it’s a bit bright, but I’m sure it’ll end up at least on my toes
at some point and I just love Ciaté bottles, so it felt like a bit of a luxury
product.
The first mini product was the Yves Rocher France Quelques Notes d’Amour
fragrance (RRP £33 for 30ml), and I just had to include an extra picture of it
out of the packaging, because it’s the cutest fucking thing I’ve ever seen.
Also, it smells gorgeous, floral with some lovely spicy, woody low notes. But
really, the teensy little bottle. All very Alice in Wonderland.
Last and – let’s be honest – probably least is the Rimmel London
BB Cream Matte mini (RRP£6.99 for 30ml). I’m always more excited to receive
brands I don’t usually buy or have easy access to, and I’m not a huge user of
BB cream generally, but I’ve tried the Rimmel ones before and they’re quite
nice, so I’m sure I’ll get a bit of use out of this. It’s in a sweet little
tube (I mean, it’s not as cute as the Yves Rocher, but nothing is as cute as
the Yves Rocher) so I might stick it in my handbag for coverage emergencies.
And that’s the lot. I was pretty pleased with the box this month
overall. Let me know if you’re thinking about signing up, or, if you already
get Glossyboxes, what do you think of this month?
Wow, I love what you got in the box this month! The Rimmel BB cream looks great! x

Anything with satin bows on is a winner for me! =) Thanks for commenting; I'll be sure to check out your blog! N x
DeleteThis is probably the best glossybox I've seen in a while. Great products! Love the Ciate nail polish and the Nuxe mask. My skin is dry to combination, so moisturising masks are my best friend. :) x

It's great isn't it?? It was a bit strange for me because usually I use cleansing masks, but I think I'll get a lot of use out of it, especially as it gets cold! N x
